I installed some a few months back. Wayyyyyyyyy better when the hoods up than having the damn prop rod there.

I know this isn't the for sale section but:

I have an extra set to sell without the bracket kit. You can get that kit for $10 shipped. Looking to get $40 shipped for them. PM me.

well Ive got a question... my hood doesnt latch when you close it unless you lift it like a foot up in the air and slam it down... maybe i just have to tweak the latch a little bit... but if I got these, wouldnt it make closing the hood more difficult?

but nice find!

no after closing it about halfway, the hood will slam shut just how it normally would without them. you should have no problems with that at all.
I have the hood struts as well and i love them. Definitely not anywhere near rice. I have had nothing but good compliments about them.

From what I've heard, the hood is hard to latch because of the hood scoop. The car has an extra strong latch to hold the hood down tight due to the excess wind resistance the scoop makes.

I would rate the shocks as one of the best things I've done to the car. No it doesn't make it go faster, handle better or stop quicker but they're so darn functional and they dress up the engine bay a lot better than that prop rod.

My hood was like SpitfireMk24's, only worse. With the struts installed, it did become harder to latch, because the struts add some resistance when the hood is dropped from 2 feet.

I simply shimmed the entire hood latch bracket with a 1/16" thick piece of soft plastic (cut from a VCR tape storage box). Now I can just push down on the hood and it latches. No more high altitude drops required!
It has been nearly 2 years since the installation and no problems.
I can post a link to some pics if you want to see where the shim is placed.
