Well after braving the 40 degree air and rain this morning the stang is up and running. There aren't any leaks from what I can tell, except for the EGR hole which blew out its JB weld plug..I'm going to just cap it with a pipe cap. Now it runs great up top but it seems to have a low end miss in it. It's too cold and still raining outside for me to go check it out, I feel I may have fouled a plug. I got a little overzealous during my oil change and put too much in, it started and smoked, so I got back under there and let a little out (should of checked the dipstick huh?) Now there's no more smoke but it misses down low. I can't wait till it's dry outside and I can really get on it...the car feels MUCH stronger!

Eh, just a thought...could the fact that the hole for the EGR is open cause the low end to feel kinda soggy and/or like a miss? It just feels like it's running REALLY rich down low, however without excessive fuel smell. I dunno, just thinking about it...Any ideas?

Are you talking about the EGR connection at the exhaust manifold(pipe to manifold) or up on the plenum(valve-plenum)???

my bad, on the plenum. i might also add that my car still hesitates at low rpm. but not as bad. it was horrible with the EGR tube off.

Glad to hear the operation went well. You had the PI intake and Pi cams before, I think right? I'm curious to see how much difference the PI heads will have over just the intake and cams.

As for the miss, did you have the #8 plug out?

Yeah, I had the cams and intake before. I checked the plug. The insulator was dark brown (from what I could see in my headlights) and it was pretty dirty, it didn't look oily as far as being wet is concerned.. It's a brand new plug. I took some fine grit sand paper and cleaned it up an it's still not firing. I'm going to try a new plug tomorrow and see how it goes.

Ya, it's no fun working on your car outside in the cold, I'm suprized you checked it out as much as you did. Hopefully it's just the plug, maybe some antifreeze or crud from the headswap fouled it. I guess just check the easy stuff 1st, and go on from there.
Did you do the EGR delete the same time as the headswap, or did you have the car running after the headswap and then do the EGR? I like to try and do just 1 mod at a time in case there is a problem, so it's a little easier to track down, but sometimes things just don't work out that way.
Congrats on the new headswap.
