when was the last time it had a filter change? im guessing your talking about the stock guage? put a manual guage in it and see what the oil pressure really is, then youll have more of an idea. and it is full of oil so the sloshin in the pan isnt causing it, unless you have a differrent oil pick up or something but that would be odd.

manual gauge like 10 bucks and some 20w-50 and new filter fixed my concerns....my block has some miles, but still has good oil pressure for now......the 20w-50 stopped my tick....

i had something similar happen on my car. it ended up being one of the small freeze plugs on the front of the block next to the cam had turned sideways in the hole and was allowing oil to just vent back to the oilpan rather than pump up the lifters.

Agreed....

If this doesn't help, might be time to drop the pan and replace the pump.
