a dealer is in business to make money, and the Gov. takes about 40 cents on the dollar. So if the car dealer makes 3k gives 1,400 to the gov. pays the salesment 100, now he has made 1,500, minus the cost of the lot building ins. He would be lucky to take out 200-300 from that profit.

Oh I know that. I guess I was just surprised at how far over book they went, though I do understand they do it for wiggle room.

Yeah I thought it was worth more, but so far everyone I've told about it seemed impressed I got that much for it.
