Whether it will or won't, that chip is a waste of money.

I dont know if your n/a or turbod ? But on my 93 coupe 5.0 the guy that built the car dynod it at 310hp 338tq at the wheels. He soldit to thr guy i bought it from and he had a SCT chip put in and dynod 279 hp 328 tq at the wheels on the same dyno? So go figure? As far as the SCT chip for the 5.0's go all it does is what a timming light and a fuel pressure reg will do for the most part from what i've been told? It dont really help till you go with a power adder, but it could be diffrent on the 4's? peace

The original poster was talking about an 89 or 90 model 2.3. Those do have distributors from the factory. Coil packs didn't start until 91.

O sorry i didnt know that? My 4 banger coupe is a 92 so it dosent have one but has the dual coil packs with 8 plugs, and of course my 93 coupe is a v8 so it has a dist! So if ya cant do anything with coil packs why for timming marks on the crank/balancer ? peace
