So I'm at my infraction hearing (77 in a 60) in Pierce County and the judge is all set to swear me in, listen carefully to my testimony and then of course convict me and collect the fine. I point out that the ticket wasn't filed within 2 days as required by Court Rule...denied. I then pointed out that none of the boxes at the top of the ticket were checked indicating who the plaintiff was or even what court the ticket should have been filed in. I argued that it was unclear whether the court even had jurisdiction and that techinically, nobody was prosecuting the ticket...GRANTED/ticket dismissed.

On a side note, I've driven all over Nevada, California, and Illinois in the past several weeks and didn't see a single state patrol car running radar/laser. I've been back for a week and over a 40 mile commute, I see an average of 4-5 WSP cars with someone either pulled over or running laser. Today on SB I-5 there was a big speed trap with 7 cars working between Southcenter and Kent. What gives with this state. :nonono:

I know what you mean. I was commuting from Tacoma to Port Orchard during the week and saw my fill of cops. In fact, I noticed that most days, on the way back to Tacoma, many motorists were going 5mph under the posted...they seemed scared. On the same token, I was traveling on I-84 through portland a few weekends ago and saw 13 cars pulled over. Practically every state trooper on that shift was present on I-84. Oregon is getting bad as well!

Revenue and boredom! All the WSP seems to do is run speed traps, and do accident reports. With all of the county/city PD everywhere, all they have is the freeways.

Hey GT, I noticed on your avatar, that it says no racing between 10pm and 5am, I wonder if that means its ok to race there durring the day???? Do ya think the judge would buy it?
