hello guys,

i need help to convert my clutch linkage from manual to hydraulic. I use a fox body (89) brake booster. Will the JMC hydraulic clutch conversion fit?
The actual clutch linkage is a cable. But my hooker competition headers melt this one. So i will change to hydraulic.

I have the JMC hydraulic kit with manual brakes. While it fits well with manual brakes, I don't think there's nearly enough room for a power brake booster. John, the owner at JMC (I think) was really helpful the last time I had a problem, and I'm sure he'd know the answer. Give him a call.

I have confirmed this weekend that the JMC hydraulic clutch WILL fit with power brakes in the 67/68 Stangs when using the Bendix OEM booster. I cannot confirm any other boosters, but from my research and reading on this board, other boards and speaking with vendors, this is the only booster that will fit. I will be writing up my power brake conversion complete with pics as I finish it. I completed all the fab & fitup this weekend, now just need to finish bending some new lines and bolt everything back up. Hope to be done next weekend and will post the results.

I too have a JMC in my 66 fstbk and there apears to be very little room. However, my thoughts were to get a very small booster like you would find on a street rod though, I'm not sure if there is one available.
Does anyone know of any boosters that will fit in a 64-66 with a JMC installed?
Another possible option for us is to get one of those hyd. bossters that runs off your ps pump? Anyone have experience with this?

My kit

I just got my kit for 66 fastback with t-5 I hope it fits around my power booster(I love them disc)anybody had problems yet??

Here's an idea for you guys. I don't know if this is feasible or not, but the street rod crowd uses brake boosters that fit behind the dash on the inside so that they will have a clean and smooth firewall. And it seems that I have seen somewhere in a magazine one designed for a classic mustang. If not I know they have universal ones. I don't know if anyone has tried one or not or if they are more trouble than they are worth, but I thought I would throw that out after some brainstorming.

Brakes

On the jmc web site I saw a duel mastercylnder brake setup. Would it work with the hydralic clutch.

The distance between the hole for the brake pushrod and the hole for the clutch pushrod (which is where your clutch MC will mount) varies. The '69-'70 guys seem to be able to run any kind of booster. The '65-'66 requires a bell crank booster, of which there are several on the market, including a Scott Drake model from The Mustang Depot--Las Vegas, and a Master Power Brakes model from NPD. The '67-'68, I don't know what will work, except that a bell crank booster will work.
