The ROUSH® Automotive Collection is pleased to announce the second Open House event scheduled for the 2009 summer season will be held on Thursday, June 11. Activities planned for the Open House event include a Roush Fenway autograph session, Embry-Riddle jet dragster with driver Elaine Larsen, ROUSH® F-250 propane vehicle press conference, engine build competition, drag race simulator, and WRIF activities.
NASCAR Sprint cup Series race car drivers Greg Biffle, Jamie McMurray and David Ragan along with NASCAR Camping World Truck Series driver Colin Braun will be on hand to meet fans and sign autographs from 5:00 pm until 6:30 pm. Autograph session times and appearances may be subject to change. Please call Event Hotline for details at 734-779-7276. A large selection of authentic race car parts are available for purchase during the open house. Treasure hunters will find race car body panels from the NASCAR Roush Fenway teams and race driven tires. Race driven tires are only twenty dollars each and are great to get autographed.
The Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University jet dragster will be on display. Driver Elaine Larsen will be available for autographs. Her J-60 turbine-powered dragster can accelerate rapidly (0-to-60 mph in less than a second) and reach speeds up to 300 mph! She will attempt to shatter the Michigan Land Speed Record at Milan Dragway on Saturday, June 13. FREE tickets for this NMRA Ford Nationals Event will be available during the open house while supplies last. A drag race simulator will also be available to test your reaction time. See if you have what it takes to be a drag racer.
Sign up to tour the ROUSH® Performance Facility which is separate from the ROUSH® Collection Museum. Shuttles leave from the ROUSH® Collection to transport guests to the ROUSH® Performance Facility where they can see firsthand what goes into producing a ROUSH® Mustang. Tours will be held at 10:00 am and 12:00 pm, limited seating is available; to ensure your place on the shuttle please Pre-Register by calling 734-779-7290. ROUSH® Performance Products will have a strong presence during the Open House event. At 4:30 pm they will be hosting the Ferrellgas propane conference at the ROUSH® Museum prior to the start of the Autograph Session. During this ceremony, Jack Roush will be handing over the keys to the first ROUSH® F-250 propane-powered truck to the President of Ferrellgas.
Two teams from the ROUSH® Engine Build Department will compete side-by-side to see who can execute a complete engine build-up, including a live test run, in the quickest time. Don’t miss all the excitement; come see if they can beat their 23 minute 56 second record. A WRIF DJ will be on site from 5 – 7 pm with the 2009 Riff Rock Girl Winner. Stop by to meet them or to rock out on Guitar Hero or Rock Band for the chance to win cool WRIF prizes.
A series of door prize drawings are held throughout the evening. Door prize give-aways include a pair of MIS Grandstand seat tickets for the LifeLock 400 on June 14, 2009. Also, a pair of Keystone NMRA Ford Nationals V.I.P. passes to Milan Dragway June 12-13, 2009. Additional door prize give-aways include a variety of ROUSH Fenway memorabilia.
