I am doing the 5.0 swap and I am very pressed for money, so my question is, if any, what cars can i salvage some good parts from for my V8 that may be better than the stock carbed motor I have?

I need a fan and radiator for starters, I also am curious if there are any cars I can pull off the mini starter, other than that, I have no idea!

The first gen lightning had a mini starter. Dont know of any cars that had a mini starter from the factory.

Home port the heads you have and spend about $125 on a new cam and lifters. That will make a big difference.

Other than that a 302 from an explorer, lincoln VII, or any 5.0 mustang. The headers you have will not fit with the explorer heads. The home port and flat hydraulic cam will make you think you have a rocket and can be done for less than $200.

Okay, cool.

I hear alot of people talk about using the cooling fan out of the sable or whatever, or the lincoln? what vehicles have slim fans that are really good that I can use for my 302 swap? and will anything besides the mustang radiator fit? or do i just have to buy a new one from checker?

The 3.8 fan from the taurus is a popular option. Be aware that you should upgrade the alternator when you go electric fan. ESP if you have teh 75 maverick alt. The external voltage regulators were notorious for low voltage at idle.

my old 91 5.0 tbird had a ministarter with the solinoid actually on the starter itself.

I always look on www.car-part.com to see what cars have the same parts. They use the Hollander interchange manual. There are many 95+ Fords that have the mini starters.

some years of crown vics have 24# injectors and matching Mass air Meter that can be bored out. SN 95 electric fans in 94-95 GTs

Look for import and Bmw for rads,alternators from 95 and up stangs and taurus, electric fans from Cavalier, taurus , mark 8's, other imports, driveshaft from AWD 92-95 Aerostars, rearends from 87-88 Turbo Coupes, or 86 and up stangs, brakes from 87 and up stangs, heads from 96 and up explorers and intakes too, seats from escort Gt's or imports, theres a few.A tranny from a 95 Cobra R if you find this send it my way for sharing this info with you LOL.

Haha, the only mustangs you find at my local junkyard are 86-89 4 cyl...
But I will keep my eyes open for that tranny....haha
