Doesnt have an eccentric. Thats for mechanical fuel pump setups that would mount on the timing cover. Which you dont have if its EFI

Seems like I remember some eccentrics on aero EFI motors (left over, kind of like an appendix). My memory must be getting bad.....

My 87 had the eccentric. Noticed it when I swapped cams. Also had the fuel pump boss on the timing cover.

If it has one, its just spinning, but its not used. Personnaly, I have never seen one on a Fox Body stang. Makes no sense to have one, if not running a Mechanical pump. Regardless, no mechanical pump that I know of, that is used on a engine can generate the fuel requirements of standard EFI systems. Which is about 40-60psi. Why there would be and eccentric on the Cam of and EFI engine, is beyond me.

He might be switching to carb.

I've seen threads similar to this where a handful of early year aero owners have indicated that they had it too.

I agree with Hissin, apparently just some early years leftovers.

Probably why I've never seen one then. Never owned a Fox earlier than 89 year.
