just a question

My mustand seems real hesitant on take off and i was told that the timing was off any idea how to adjust it??

u need

u have to pull the chip out to check it. its the little chip by the dist wiring. i would look at the cap,rotor, plugs,wires. stock is like 8 but we run up to 17

I dont have a cap and rotor I dont think it is a square six pack

what year do you have? what engine?

Pull the spout plug (little grey plug by the airbox), toss a timing light on with the pickup on the #1 plug wire, and point it at the timing pointer. 10° BTDC is the factory specification, but most guys & gals bump it up to around 16° for a bit more off-idle power. Bumping it that high will require premium fuel, however, or you risk detonation and engine damage.

Agreed on us needing to know the year and engine. If you have not, pull codes. It sounds like you have an OBD-II V6, so you might get something worthwhile from the EEC.

First get a timing light and check the timing.

If you have the coil packs, then my guess is that timeing is all computer controlled..

When was the last time you did a tune up? Plugs, wires, fuel filter, etc.
