Just back from classic car show in Dublin, Ireland...

...where i won best 1960's American car, was approached and phtographed for a 4 colour page spread in Car Buyers Guide and best of all was offered 25,000 euros ($31,000) for a car i paid 18,500 euros ($23,000) for 9 months ago. Not a bad day.

Oh i turned down the offer of course. Why? Because in Ireland Mustangs are rare as hens teeth, good ones are almost none existent and because i was pretty sure when i bought it that i was getting it at a very good price, i think i might have been right!

Lots of Minis, VW beetles, Ford Cortinas, Escorts and Capri's. A good range of Jaguars and Jensen interceptors, too many Deloreans, Lotus Esprit, a couple of 70's Toyota Starlets (????), lots of Moris Minors, MG's, MGTs etc. The usual British classic stuff. Probably 500 cars in all, which is relatively big for Ireland.

In terms of American cars there were two trans-ams, two corvettes, two Camaros (both very very nice), lots of cadillacs, oldsmobiles and the likes, around 25 in all. I'm quite a snob when it comes to american classics. I only really like Mustangs and Dodges, the rest do very little for me, although i can appreciate them.
