Just got 18" rims

Today I won my bid on ebay for Black FR500 replica wheels.

18 x9 For Front
18 x 10 For Back

Now I need tires but don't want to spend 1000-1200 for tires, guys I need help with tires.

What size ? I am thinking 275/35/18 Front and 295/35/18 Back.

im pretty sure Sumitomos HTR-Z's are fat and cheap tires for our cars

not the greatest traction though.

Kumho SP-T's. Reasonable and decent handling.

265 F and 295 R is what I have.

Since you drag race your car alot I would go with Nitto 555's.
Decent price and long tread life too.

I don't want nitto 555R cause I have MT ET Street on my stock tires. WHen I go the track I will just put my stock rims on. I am looking for tires that are about 500-600 most if not I have to spend money on

I didn't know that.
The BF Goodrich g-Force T/A KDW NT's would be a great
choice but,I know their tread life is short compaired to other tires.
Since you purchased 18" wheels you can expect to spend more
on tires. For alittle more you could probably get Goodyear F1 GS D3's
they are the best in my book.

I found 275/35/18 F1 gs d3 on sale at tirerack for $197, but 295-35-18 is like almost $300 damn. If 295 was on sale too then I would have bought it

Shop around first though before you rule them out.
Their are alot of different places to look.The wider they are
the more expensive they are I know.

If you are patient you could probably get a good deal... I got my BFG Comp T/As 295/35/18 from Tirerack on clearance for $110 a piece.

Save money and don't get a 275 up front, not necessary. I wouldnt run wider than a 265. I have a 245/40/18 up front on my 18x9's and its perfect

A 245 is way to skinny. 245 is the stock size on the 8" rim.

265 minimum on the front, especially for rim lip protection.

i have the same wheels on my 04, i have 245/45 on the front and 285/35 on the rears, both are a size to small but they look fine. ill post picks later.

Guess its all just a matter of opinion. The wider you go in the front, the more they will track and possibly rub. I wouldn't go bigger than a 265 and best would be a 255. My 245's look fine and the brand actually runs narrow as well. Next i might get some 255's

As you can see in those pics, the lip of the rim is really exposed.

If you don't care about curbing them, then no worries. But sooner or later, you will catch a curb and with a wider tire, you'd have saved the rim lip from damage.

the UPS tracking # says that my 295/35/18 tires are on the truck for delivery but it is already 2pm and they are usually here by now.
