Funny story actually *LONG*. Skip this if you like. Cliff notes are below!

My friend calls me and asks if I want to go to the local casino. I tell him no, because I would just waste the little money I had. He tells me that he was at the casino the day before, and won $3500!!! My jaw dropped! I asked him why the hell would he go back, seeing as he won so much! I guess he was bored, and wanted to get away from the evil wife & his daughter (not evil BTW).

Anyway, he tells me he will give me $500 to go down to the casino with him! He didn't want to tell his wife about the money, otherwise it would become "her" money, so he wanted to go out in style! I said....ummmmmm...OK!!!

So we go to the casino, he gives me five $100 chips. I take 4 of them, stash them in my pocket, and use the last chip to get some cash. After playing some slots w/ the $100, I end up with about $120. Then we move on to the blackjack tables. The first dealer just keeps breaking out, and we keep winning. I end up with about $160, and he ends up about $500 from where he started. The next dealer just creams us, and we end up back where we started. We leave that table, and go to another. Now this dealer just keeps losing. I get back up to $180 or so, and I decide to go for it big. I put down $80 for my bet. I end up with blackjack, and they pay 1.5 times your bet when you get a blackjack, so end up with $300.

So, I turned $100 into $300, and still had the $400 in chips left over!! My friend went for it big the same time I did, and ended up with a total of $4500.

The only mechanical problems I have with the car are incessant pinging, and something with my rear suspension is bad. When I push down on the trunk with all my weight, the car comes all the way back up, but then goes back down about 1-1/2" & then finally settles. I assume my shocks are bad, right?

Could my rear springs be at fault as well? How would I tell which component is at fault? I thought I might go with new shocks/springs/struts all the way around. If I did, it would only be for traction and smooth ride purposes. Lowering the car isn't really a concern of mine. I don't think I want "full-drag springs" because this is my daily driver and I don't want the front end hopping around like I have ghetto hydraulics & the back stiff as a board.

So would standard aftermarket lowering springs help my traction problems? If so, which shocks would I want to go with (without sacrificing driveability). I am looking for a good comprimise in between good traction & comfortable driving.

I also want to do a h/c/i. I will go with TF TW heads, trickflow street intake, and TF stage1 cam. Heads = ~$1050, cam = ~$150, and intake is ~$375. I assume I need the intake adapter as well, so add that.

Assuming only my shocks are bad, I will replace them at a bare minimum. Also, I will also install subframe connectors at a minimum.

I get about $650 each paycheck. I think I can save about $400 from each paycheck. Here is the dilemma. Since I have the $700, should I just wait until my next paycheck, and use it to get the TF heads, or should I do suspension work instead?

I need traction, but I also need more power. Decisions, decisions. So that's the dilemma. What do you guys think.

If I did get the heads, could/should I reuse the stock lifters? Can I reuse the stock pushrods/lifters? I heard you need different length pushrods, but I am not sure. I wouldn't mind just installing new heads, and leaving the cam/intake stock until the following paychecks.

If I did the shocks/struts/springs, what else would I need? New bushings? Should I do control arms as well? I know rear lca/uca's will help traction. I just need to know which order to purchase/install them.

Thanks, and sorry it's so long!!!
