Just got a "real" Mustang!

I have great respect for some really cool GT owners I know who frequent other forums. They have hot cars but are still willing to give V-6's the same degree of respect. Mustangs are hot cars regardless of the powerplant. Some Mustang owners, on the other hand, just need to open their eyes and realize this.

Well, its like this. I live in Northern Kentucky, in a neighborhood subdivision where no house is less than 350k (in Ky terms thats about 4000 square ft, not a shoebox like out west). My GT has 1800 miles on it, thats because I drive my '99 Acura NSX more. I also have a '93 Cobra with 23k on it that you "mature senior"members would drool over. It doesnt move much, its more like an investment and it is a True show car, not like a pimped out 6 popper. And when it snows, I roll our Nissan Titan 4dr LE model. We're not hillbillys, but we do ocassionally watch the Dukes.

I like the black rocker panels on the V6. The painted rockers will show stone chips, bugs, etc.
My wife drives an Escape Limited with painted rockers and they are the devil to keep in good shape.
I've had V8s and V6s and loved them all. Remember, the Mustang once came with a 4 cylinder. Should we stone those who might still own one?

hatch he is not an ahole now this obviosly 16 year old is full off it. he is prob at one of those tini bopper computer places or maybe he is sneeking on his moms confuser. i mean really give me a break. the one thing about the internet is noting is what it seams. some double wide in the back woods and he prob has net zero as an isp

oh yea the show went great we did have 4 guns that didnt go so we retied them and lit then that way we didnt have to return them tonight. glad today is over. goin to disney land tomarrow with the wife and kids. cant wait to see what the kid posts tomarrow.

I am not going to dog on the V6 but I love having that V8 growl. For most American's, It goes hand in hand with a Muscle Car. But one thing is for sure, the 05 Stang looks great!

cmon man im 16, and im more mature than that. give us teenagers a little more credit than that . o and i have a v6 stick and am happy with it. yall can bash it all yall want but ill still love it. i give props to any mustang owner, v6 or v8. thanks to all of yall gt owners who appreciate the 05 for the 05 and dont go around bashing everyone that doesnt have the resources that you do

Mods are on the scene and watching this thread.

I do have one question for Nolyaw, you have 135 more wheels horsepower then me and more rubber but you only are in the 12.90s, what's the deal???

If I may interject....

If the V6 guys want respect, I suggest NOT listing a stars and stripes pony emblem as a "mod". This is where I (and most people) loose respect for you.

Putting a sticker on a car is not modding it, putting on a shift boot is not modding it. Let's not defend or debate the word "mod" because the respect factor will just spiral down into the negatives if you do.

Now, if you guys are admitting that you would rather have a GT and that overall cost is a factor (careful now, not saying that you can't afford it, just that you didn't want to) I will stand proudly next to you. But if you are somehow trying to say the cars are even close to equal in performance or stature, you are wrong and I will not support such lunaci.

Last. The original mustang came with a six cylinder base model, you walk up to a nice example of a 65, the guy pops the hood, you see the little thing, you walk away saying "nice car, too bad it's not a 289". This is the truth and cannot be avoided.

Embrace these truths and you will be embraced
1) the GT is the car you would want if everthing lined up.
2) stickers, painted calipers, shift boots, are not mods and you should be embarassed to list them. Yes they are nice but my god, listing them on the internet?????

My G*d Sawman, Rick James was pretty good in his day but wouldn't it be better to associate yourself on the Internet with the Godfather of Funk (George Clinton)??

saw you are getting close! with me any way. i could have bought a v8 but i got a 6
first reason. they had it in stock
2. i have 2 teenage sons no way would i let them drive it but they drive the 6
3. wife (refer to # 2)
4. i have already been pulled over twice.
5. the car purrs down the road at 55 with out even trying (thinking about gears to solve this)most all my streets are 35.
drove both v6 was all i needed.
7. wanted auto due to commute.
8. yea the v8 is very fast i have driven my friends a couple of times, but the type of driving i do around here i could never use the v8 to its potential.

the bottom line is i didnt need the extra balls for my car mine are big enough. ant for that myself and others get beat up and that sucks! i am tired of hearing if you do mods you should have gotten the v8. the whole thing is dumb. and honestly i am kinda disapointed in the moderators for letting this one go on. any way power to the people. ( just more to some) thanks for the fun ride. now moderators keep this forum from going to crap!

Too late dude... I suspect this thread is heading towards rock bottom. Hopefully Doc GTO will keep things from getting too down and dirty. It's sad that people are soooo fixated on raw horsepower and lose sight of a cars lineage. After all unless they're hanging out at the track much of that horsepower is wasted. In most cities PD doesn't take kindly to people cruising at 140!

Let's all try to remember that we are talking of "things". We were all born naked and broke and we will die that way. I used to be one of those big money making, large home, cars up the arse, individuals until my father died. He used to call me and ask me to breakfast, but I was TOO BUSY making all the money needed to maintain my stuff, and acquire more stuff.

I missed out on valuable time with my dad because I opted to negate human interaction to slave to my things. I WILL NOT ever reduce myself to that degree of individual. Hey, if you are one that does, that is okay. We all have inalienable rights to do, and be, what we want.

I personally, feel that it is how I interact with people and the relationships that are built through openminded, respectful communication that mean the most, and will determine the quality of the life I live.

When I die, I hardly think any of the people I have developed relationships with will say at my Euology "She drove a lame V-6 want to be Mustang." Or "She drove a pristine 05 AMG C55.".... Wouldn't matter. I want to hear "She was an honest and helpful lady.", "She loved her family and friends".... Definately NOT "She LOVED HER CAR."....

Age has very little to do with our maturity level and sometimes people just do not know well enough to put into scope the generalized comments that they make. Some of us have to go through life altering illness or the loss of a loved one to come to reality.

In all interactions we should try to consider the end result. I do not feel any frustration or anger towards Noylaw, he stated his opinion, I responded. Sawman70..You and I have had a couple interactions that just send me off the thread. Like, ExCon, you are a closed minded, opinionated individual, who I try not to waste my breath on. Choose better battles, hunger, aids, the treatment of the elderly, prescritpion drug coverage for all, something worthwhile, because, like I said earlier..It's a Car. Do I care? Yes, I care to try to open people's minds to think before they type (speak) and consider all people's opinions. Even if you cannot understand it, we all have the right to have them. I, respectfully, agree to disagree with you on nearly everything you say.

That is Dave Chapelle man, not Rick James. Dave is someone I think is very funny, I take no pride in it, I just think he is funny. Those that watch the show most likely smiled when they saw it.

I modded my Colorado today, got a new battery and an oil change, should put that in my sig I guess.

Please understand, from my point of view.

Nothing at all wrong with a V6 Mustang but a damn sticker is not a mod. Do not lower yourselves by listing it. Be proud of your cars and your choices but listing sprayed on paint as a Mod? This is where I get lost in defending you guys. And Afixer listed his reasons for his purchase (he didn't have too) but in a perfect world he would have got the GT. But the world is not perfect and we all have one reason or another for our choices and should not be belittled by making them.

Enjoy your cars and leave the morons who offend you alone. Like a stray animal, if you feed them, they will stay.

I just don't think you are doing your Mustang's justice by posting that stuff (the mods I mean).
