The first thing you should do is get subframe connectors welded in. Then start with an air intake then rear upper and lower control arms aluminum driveshaft exhaust system.... then after all this decide on gears
700 miles - dyno the car
1000 - take it to the track
1500 - install new shifter (tri-ax in my case)
3000 - change oil and install (LT, X-pipe, cat-back)
3200 - get stangnet license plate and sequential signal light
3500 - dyno the car again and smile
3600 - install 4.10 and new Drive shaft + DS loop and send EEC to T&J Performance)
4000 - go to 1/4 mile track and run 13.9@101.6
present - save up money for more mod
good luck chump. I learned a lot here. I remember when I used to be like "so the exhaust system comes in 3 parts? I'm confused" and post in Mustangworld Corral showed me teh way though. And now, I found that Stangnet is the place to be.
Or....don't do a thing to it unless you can get to 13.9 BONE STOCK. Then, you'll at least know you can drive. Once you can do that, then start the mods. Gears....exhaust....timing adjuster or chip...shifter...intake plenum/throttle body. Don't waste your time with K&N yet. I'm running 13.4's@104 (corrected to 13.3@105) with the stock paper filter on stock tires.
Most importantly...get the driving skills before the power mods. Too many new mustang owners go out to the track and run 14.5's or worse and think throwing mods at it will make it better. Practice practice practice. Then, when you're cutting 2.0's on the stock rubber and running 13.9's or better, start adding mods.

That was my first time at 1/4 track as well.. and hell, I enjoy modding and making my car faster. By the time I run the car 50+ passes at the track. I would have enough experience with my car to break 13.xx bone stock.. I hope.
All and all, I agree that you should go to the track and run your car often and do the best you can until you're satisfy with your driving skill. Then you can start modding and catch up to the mods/driving skill. but it's never too late to learn.
your getting that time out of your car with just the listed mods? thats great! i'm not a bad 5 speed driver but there is room for improvement my last car that i ran was a 460/c-6 85 t bird.
