So I just got my new i Phone tonight and I am wondering how I can use it in my car.

How do Plug it in my car?

I have heard there are some issues using i Pods and i Phones in our cars but is it a real problem. I can't find a port to plug into. I have heard it is in the back of the radio and hard to get to so HOW DO I...

plug it in?
Use it in my car?
Any hardware I need to buy to make this work?

Also does it cost a lot, any way to get the stuff I need cheaper but not sacrifice quality?

Also what is the easiest way to do this?

I have a 2006 Mustang GT

Any info I have not yet provided just send a reply and I will read it on a regular basis and reply ASAP!

Guess I should say that I have the shaker 500 in my car and did not find a port inside the console. Correct me if I am wrong but 07 and up only had the port inside to middle console?

If so I have an 06 and no port in the console, What do i do?

Any iTrip will work. Some are designed for the iPhone, but all will work. Some stock, mostly aftermarket decks will have a port for you to plug a device in. I don't know if you like the stock radio, but I have no found a Mustang with a stock radio that I like, other than the 2000 Cobra R, which doesn't have a radio.

2007+ has the aux port, so you don't have an aux port. You can use an FM transmitter, though it won't be the best sound. There are also kits to connect directly to the head unit, but most of them have some bit of issues. I would recommend considering a new head unit with iPod controls if you want the best sound.

I had a 2007 with the plug. No controls on radio. Sucks big time.
Get an aftermarket radio for best sound, controls, etc.
The stock radio just won't cut it.

Thanks guys!!!

I really don't want to go with a different head unit right now! The money is the issue.

I did however discover the I have the Motorola ROKR and it is designed to be a blue tooth unit to use for phones so that you can hear the person you are talking to coming out of the speakers of the car or the small speaker on the unit its self.

I simply turned on me blue tooth on my phone and synced it with the ROKR and set my radio station just like I would for phone calls and selected iPod on my phone and it does go through the car speakers.

One down fall to this though, I get a static sound in between tracks but it did that even on phone calls. I don't hear any static when the music is playing, I think that it is because the music simply drowns it out. I am sure it is still there but it will work great until I do get the money to get a new head unit.

AGAIN THANK YOU ALL FOR ALL THE HELP!!!

Just out of curiosity any good head unit that isn't that much but has a big screen and good iPod controls?

Motorola ROKR? Isn't that a phone? I have a phone that is called that. It has Bluetooth but certainly will not work with the factory 2006 radio.
Head units that will do a good job start at about $250 and work their way up (GPS) included to $1,500 or more. Try Crutchfield.com
