Just got off the phone with with Diablo Sport...

If in doubt and you want to do tuning your self TwEEc your car. I am very happy with my Tweecer. The learning curve is a little steep but its fun, I've changed all my timing tables and fuel tables, allowed the computer to instantly switch to OL if there is a defined amount of load but not at WOT= much better mid throttle response. It can do everything any chip can do except mess with PATS. I even have a nice switch and can run 4 programs and switch while running!! Have you looked at the tweecer??

When I put the lightning motor in I had just received my tweecer and I started it up without any trouble even with different displacement, injectors and MAF no rear O2's EGR and compensated for gears.

Josh.

EDIT: I forgot the best thing, real time logging, full support for EEC IV limited for EEC V, but not for long. You can log all sensor data while driving. <---really nice way to tune. You can also "burn" a program while car is running. Full support for EEC V logging comes soon with software update that they are currently running on a couple 03 cobra's.

Would the SCt tuning package be better? or maybe the superchips max micro tuner?. What should I do now, I already have gears and my speedo is off, and adding extra miles. I have a Superchip, should i get it custom tuned for the time being?

nothing comes close to the SCT tuning package. you can tune anything with it. it is miles beyond the micro tuners.

SCT = teh best!
i can't wait to get one:)

OK, so I guess I have decided to wait for the Predator to come out and try to borrow a speedcal box in the meantime. Ramsey's Performance in Tampa talked me into waiting, he told me I would love being able to tune it live on the dyno, so I will be waiting with the rest of the people who have ordered them.

Where did you order it from? I saw an add in MM&FF in the first 3 or 4 pages in the summitt racing section with the predator for sale for the 99+GT's

Don't feel too bad about the wait...I ordered mine July 15, 03. They said then two more weeks. I had to go with the Black Box idea until it comes in. I was also told it would be worth the wait. I hope so.

Call need for speed...(727)462-9968...tell him Banks told you that he could order them, the guy's name is Tony. I think the more people order them and inquire about them the faster they will start to make it.

Any one have a link?

You can get the Superchips Microtuner for <$290. It probably does everything and more of what you need. It's the same one for the GT or Cobra "1725." I got mine through 2D's Performance. It is easy to operate (tune) and I like the fact that I can make my changes and be able to bring it back to stock for any warranty visits to my "slease Ford Dealer." :nice:

Well I talked to Ramsey's in Tampa today and they can get them at the end of January he said...he's guessing, because they just finished the one for the lightning and they are doing the Mach 1 one next and then the GT, last. Which sux, but hey good things come to those who wait, so I'm waiting and hopefully this is the good thing.

GT's last? There are probably more GT owners that want this than Mach 1 and Lightnings combined

I agree with the part about us having alot more of the "market share". Besides, do they REALLY think that all of those Cobra owners are modding their car? Speaking om stereotypes now, I would say that there are a larger percentage of GT owners modding their cars than '03 Cobra owners.
AGAIN...this is ONLY speculation....

If you really want full control over your tune then the SCT package is the way to go. Full support, full documentation. There's nothing out there that can compare. It even comes with a base tune to start with that is the result of thousands of dyno pulls. Ever hear of Fordchip or JMS? The brains behind those two companies are the two main guys behind SCT.

The Predator seems ok for the really simple stuff but there is no room to grow. Diablo will tell you themselves, it's not for a heavily modded car. I'd rather have something that will grow with me.

**DISCLAIMER**
I'm the exclusive dealer for the SCT pro racer package so take the above for what you will. But I'm speaking as a racer and not a business owner. I've learned more in the past month with my pro racer package then I've ever learned with any other product. It's basically an electronic text book on tuning.

What Bo said at Ramsey's was that the Gt owners arent going to spend that kind of money, which is true for the majority of them, but most 03 cobra owners will spend that kind of money, because they all are performance oriented. Just his .02, he has already sold like 10 of them for the cobras and like 5 for the lightning or something like that...so i think point proven. He said they love them though, so it will be worth the wait. Oh yea and SCT is way to much for a N/A car. Just my .02
