Just headers sound clip

Does anyone have a sound clip of what a V8 stang will sound like with just headers and no cats, mufflers, etc?

sorry no sound clip, but the other day when i pulled my stock pipe off and put an offroad h-pipe on i drove my car around with just the stock headers and wow it was crazy loud. Like Harley Davidson loud but I had NO torque what so ever

ditto what he said. my friend used to run his car like that - the thing had no bottom end, sounded like a harley (in my book that's not the sound you want a car to make) and whenever he stopped the fumes would come right up into the car and the floorboards would start to get hot..

Put your TV on the speed channel - just about anytime of day or night this time of year you've got Nextel, Busch, ARCA or Trucks on the TV. Subtract about 5000 rpm, and that's what it sounds like.

Haha I drove around my neighborhood yesterday w/ only headers. I'll just say its REAL loud. Almost obnoxious. I got on it hard and as soon as I let off there was crackin and popping etc. 2 of my nieghbors were giving me a dirty look as I drove by. Theyre prolly just p*ssed my mustang has more get up and go than thier mini-vans.

Only a tard would seriously drive around like this. Go to any dragstrip in the country and that's what it'll sound like.....basically.

The problem is a Mustang or at least most I know of, dont have the motor to sound good open header. In order to have a mean sounding car with open headers, you need more compression, a larger cam and such. A stock motor with shorties will sound horrible, even a decently built motor wont sound very good with open headers. The majority of cars that have them and sound good have race motors, which help the sound a LOT!

Id say just put on a good exhaust and it will sound good, draw less attention and make more power!

Does anyone have a clip of long tubes, o/r h and Mac Pro-Dumps? I think thats the combo i want to run on the LX, but i would love to hear it first. It will be backed up by a 347 stroker running 11:1.

i have open long tubes for now since i have a project car still. and it sounds pretty good. way better than stock headers or manifolds will anyday. sounds like a full blown dragster doing 0-60.
