I had the battery disconnected to reset the cpu. i started the car and I smell unburnt fuel real strong. I read that this is normal without a tune. How long should I take it easy before i can romp on it again?

I've read that the car will run rich because of the o2 sensors being located farther away plus the dramatic increase in flow that the cpu can't completely learn to compensate for. Just wondering if running rich is as dangerous as running lean.

No, running rich is not as dangerous as running lean. I have a strong smell of unburnt fuel after installing the off road "X"

Car just threw a code, P0153 (rich or lean condition). Is it still ok to run the car until I get a tune?
