Ok no flames please...

Now for my honest opinion for all your CAI no belivers....Believe.... I with out a doubt can feel the difference with the CAI installed over the stock K&N setup. Its not night and day difference like a gear swap but she revs up quicker and pulls a little stronger and the exhaust tone changed a bit...the fit and finish is ok, I would of expected it to be allot better for the $$ they charge for it. Does come with a really nice air filter very very large..

Installed the Tri-ax after the CAI install...very easy to do and im so upset I didn't get this day one...what a difference car shift's 20x better and throw's are nice and short.. Oh and the whole noise issue...barely louder then stock. What I did to help it was use a piece of bicycle inner tube between handle and base...worked like a charm....very happy with today's installs no headaches at all..

Welcome to the world of Steeda. They make great stuff if you ask me. I thought the quality of the CAI was better than your opinion, though, but I am glad you like it. My exhaust note changed too when I put it on.

We may want to reset our computers after putting it on, though, as I have heard it can lean you out a tad. I'll keep you posted. I just sent an email to a pro about this question and should here from him by tomorrow.

I also have a Tri-Ax shifter, but it's noisy as hell! I might take it apart and try the bicycle inner tube bit... see if that quietens ( is that even a word? ) it down a bit.. My DenseCharger does the exact same thing.. In fact, I took it out last week and re-installed my stock intake... I can definitely tell a difference.. so, I'll be putting it back on tomorrow.. good info

Something might be wrong with your triax. I didn't notice any noise difference after the install, but that might have something to do with my dump downs. Only thing I notice the handle gets really hot, but I guess thats normal.

The knob you mount on top has a lot to do with how much noise you'll get. The OEM leather knob is very quiet. The Tri-Ax is known to be noisier than the Pro 5.0 due to it's aluminum handle, that, essentially, acts like a tuning fork, channeling vibes up and into the car & knob. Any kind of insulator you can use, such as the rubber inner tube (good idea Steven!), will help.
