Just picked up a true blue 02 saleen SC281, 46k miles. Very nice car. When I orginally drove the car it felt low on power, had the seller dyno it before i bought it and it made 281 hp and little over 300 tq. I know these numbers are alittle low. But the car is on stock plugs, dirty ass airfilter etc. Brought the car home today and had the oil changed with mobil 1 5w20 and a mobil filter, also had the fuel filter changed and added some injector cleaner. Now for the questions.
1. When i first looked at the car the boost gauge did not work at all, on the way home it started showing boost at about 3lbs max, do you guys think the gauge is still messed up or the car is only making 3lbs of boost?? Would the car be able to put down 281hp with 3lbs???? What would casue this low boost, damaged blower??? If it is the gauge how would i fix it?
2. I am changing all the filters and fluids, my question is what plugs are you guys running in these cars?
3. What should my upgrades be, I was thinking the Chicane pulley and intercooler, long tubes, Biggger TB(what size?) and a cold air. Also would like to do some gears. Would the fuel system need upgrade? SVT Foucs pump? Thanks alot. Also any other advice about the cars would be great.
