Just realized I installed my Slotted rotors backwards.

See i don't know because the brembo paper says that there right. Mine are opposite of that and the speed shop around here said mine were on backwards. The other post is in here it has the paper in the post. thanks jay

I'm courious about the slots.

It seems to me that

one direction they could force dust to the hub

the other direction, the dust would be sent to the outside

That looks right to me. you want the cold air to be taken in at the hub and expelled at the outside of the rotor...

The manufacturers like Brembo and Stoptech orient their slots sweeping toward the front of the car (opposite of yours) but other manufacturers just might have a different opinion on that.

More important is the vain orientation, because this affects the cooling characteristics of the rotor. Check the vanes in the rotors. You want them to be sweeping toward the back. If they are, then your rotors are correctly installed.

Which direction should the discs rotate?

It is a popular misconception that the slots or drillings in a disc determine the direction of rotation. In truth, for an internally vented disc, the geometry of the vanes dictates the direction of rotation. There are three vane types in use:

Straight
Pillar vane (comprised of many small posts)


Curved vane
The first two vane types are non-directional, and can be used on either side of the vehicle. The curved vane disc, however, is directional. A curved vane disc must be installed with the vanes running back from the inside to outside diameters in the direction of rotation. Please see figure. Orienting the disc in the manner creates a centrifugal pump. The rotation of the disc causes air to be pumped from the center of the disc, through the vanes, and out through the outside diameter of the disc. This greatly enhances the disc's ability to dissipate heat.
Additionally, all of Brembo's slotted discs are directional as well, regardless of the vane geometry. The discs should be installed such that the end of the slot nearest the outer edge of the disc contacts the pad first. Please see figure.

I can not understand why Brembo would slot the rotors as they do. You want the slots to direct dust out off the rotor. It makes no sense to direct the leading edge into the center of the rotor to blow the dust into the center.

Well, whatever the vanes are the important part anyway.
