I think you'll be happy once you dial it in. Start off with 18* initial timing. Any chance you can ditch the shorty headers for a longtube header or is money a concern? The TFS 1 cam has a nice sound to it and makes nice power for such a mild camshaft.

I am guessing you sold the supercharger and now you have the money for this? If you didn't sell it, can I have it?

well i have seen and heard of many 5.0s running the the trickflow kit and being in the mid to high 12's. I say that low 12's are very possible. BTW what tiems were you running with the sc?

I'm pretty sure KB blowers are for stock or GT40 style lower intakes.

Woo.. a Kenne Belle will be a sweet addition to that H/C/I combo.

BTW, my uncle lives on the same street as Kenne Bell. I thought that was pretty cool. Maybe he'll hook it up for a poor stanger.

I would bet the H/C/I and sc-trim combos would be putting out almost the exact same hp if the s/c was dyno tuned but I would have to say you would have more torque with the s/c. Probably feel about the same but that cam sure is going to sound a lot better. You can get more power out of a stock setup than a lot of people would think. My friend had a totally stock car, even running stock cats and exhaust. He was using a 100 shot NX wet system and the car made 305 rwhp and 450 f/lbs rwtq. I would have never thought he would have made that kind of torque. The car ran high 12's in the 1/4 and 7.9's in the 1/8th.

so WHY werent you impressed with the Vortech???? if it was setup PROPERLY the power gain would be about the same as H/C/I and prolly actually more, so my next question is why didnt you keep the blower after the H/C/I????????

What about the blower didn't work out well for you? I would think you'd have more power with the blower, granted the boost has to build, but overall it should make more power right? Help me out here guys

thats just it.....the boost would build...and even with the 7" crank pulley...i wasn't getting full boost until redline (6000 for me).....i want some low end torque...my car is a fun street car, not a drag car...i like to mash the pedal at 10mph and be thrown in the back seat...with the vortech..all i got was my stock motor at 3500rpm and below, after that....then boost would slowly build...by then im going to fast for the street...its hard to explane...but i just want a real low rpm puller....at any moment smash the pedal...and BOOM!!! head against the headrest.....???got me....

well sorry to tell you dude, but unless your adding some cubic inches too, H/C/I are gonna loose some low end. what you described with the blower is completly normal, your best bet woulda been to keep the blower in addition to the H/C/I. in the end your gonna feel about the same power gain MAYBE a bit less but thats your choice.

thanks for the info...btw...my best bet was to sell the vortech for the h/c/i combo....and then pic up a kenne bell (when funds are available).....to take care of the bottom end loss...-----ALSO------this combo will be run with a ported typhoon intake....not the trickflow street intake...**just pulled the stock heads off about an hour ago....anyone know a good solution to clean up the piston tops??

well good luck with the new setup, and yeah the KB will definitley take car of the low end punch you desire, but the only thing with that is they dont work with a Typhoon lower, i believe they only work on stock or GT40 style lowers.

I think you would have been better off keeping the S/C and saving for some heads. One thing about a centripical (sp) S/C is that it requires RPM to make boost, so at low rpm's it isn't really doing much but still needs to be turned putting a lot of drag on the motor. I don't know personally but that is what I have noticed with cars I have scene run.
