Ok, I am sure I am about to get flamed to high heaven for this question, so here it goes.

I have attempted to research the major differences (if there were any) in the the different K-members that are out there. So far all I have gotten is a big headache. So I am basically posting to see if anyone can give me the low down on the different makers products. For instance is one manufacture better than another is terms of build and stability? Does one offer better handling than another? These are the main things I have been trying to find out with out any real success.

P.S. Why is maximum motor-sports so much more than others? Is it that much better than the other guys?

Thanks in advance to anyone that can lend a hand and shed some light on the matter.

MM builds a quality part and back it with tech support. Their K member is a ncie piece. However id get the Team Z kit. If i ever had to do anything again id buy Team Z....

Dave is the man:
Front Suspension

Ive seen the AJE K member and its nice as well.

I have a QA1 and its ok. My wheels were pushed out a little bit and i needed C&C plates and camber bolts to correct with my springs.

Does the Team Z have the ability to add a sway bar?
And what is all that is needed to replace the whole front suspension along with freshen it up.?

Sway bar is A arm Dependent.

Little list:
K member
Motor Mounts
Control arms
Poly Rack Bushings
Rack
Sway bar (dont really need a new one)
Poly end links
Poly Sway bar bushings (make sure you order the right size)
New ball Joints
Solid steering shaft
New Hubs
Break Pads
Rotors
Calipers
Springs
Shocks
Camber Caster Plates

Think that covers it.

I also have a QA1 K-member. It is weak and made in China. It is basically a drag racing K-member.

Someone who is seriously considering a MM k-member is not going to compare it to a aje/team z/q/etc blah blah blah.

Look at the MM. Its a TANK compared to the others. It is for taking corners...HARD. The others are more towards drag racing.

Whats the purpose of your car? I'd go with AJE...i just like their way of mounting the engine. Im not a big corners guy so I see no need to pay the $ for MM.

I have AJE K-member with their control arms, It went in without any problem, mine is street car as well, and i thought iffy at first so i went with the road race version of their k-member with extra bracing. It's more then i needed.

I looked at personally at the car which had MM K-member, Yes, it is skinny and lighter compared to MM but for regular street car any respectable company that makes K-member will be fine. If you search the forum you will see the pictures of the K-member and etc i have posted.

Customer service from Jim at the AJE was great, I called him so many times i lost count, BUT I did have to get the Aftermarket steereing shaft due to the length of the stock one being too short. and i highly recommend bumpsteer kit, endlinks, etc with any aftermarket K-member.

I am very happy with fit and finish with AJE product so far. and they gave me a great price for all their products, It took about 2 weeks to get the K-member, they built mine and sent it out to powdercoating shop etc etc and kept me informed very well.

If it's a street car and you may be take the car to the track once a month or something, I would just keep the stock K-member and spend the money on the engine

But if I were you I would call around and go with the company you are most comfortable with.

Just my feedback

Good luck

Yeah I like to corner hard, but I am looking for a good all-a-round K-member to go with since this will be the first time I have dealt with this part of a build.

Yeah I did the engine part already Hollywood, the only thing I have left to do is a turbo for it, and since I will have to get a k-member anyhow might as well go for it now in preparation for the boost.

Alright, And i noticed that you are in oceanside california, Then you just should go with MM since they are local, lot of people i know including empire stangs and LA mustang club guys run Team Z stuff and they had good luck with them,

I took a risk going AJE but i am glad i did because it fit great, But as far as fitting a turbo pipes around the K-member, AJE or the team Z or racecraft or Griggs will be your best bet since they will give you more room to work with.

Good luck man
