So I am rebulding my motor and I was thinking that since all the front suspention needs to be redone I would just drop the front k-member out of the car (84 gt350 convertiable 5.0) and that would alow me to put the entire trans motor and long tubes in from under the car. all at one time. But the only thing is there any alighment of the k-member itself like front to back side to side or is it just a simlpe nut and bolt through a hole with no adjustment. I would like to not have to figure this out the hard way. Unlike most of the rest of the stuff with this car. I know that was how the car was built and I hear that this is the way many guys put the motor in.

I dont know why anyone would go through the trouble with the struts and so forth to put the motor in unless they were already doing front end work. Doesnt make much sense frankly

Well as stated before I need to redo the front suspention and brakes so it will be apart any way and it looks like its just 6 bolts or so and it wil drop but my question is is there any adjustment. And if you have even installed a motor with long tubes its a real pain in the ass. Plus if the k-memder is out I can assemble the entire motor and trans except for the wiring and a few lines. And lower the car over it. Not to mention the engin bay is painted white and I would like to keep it chip free as possible.

you said it needs to be done, didnt mention you were doing it. As for long tubes, yes I have had my share of long tubes in the past 20 years. Go play with some long tubes in a pinto or Mustang II then get back to me about pain in the ass. Theres no real adjustments on the factory K mounting lcoations

Thank you I appericate your help. But Out of curisoty who the hell puts long tubes in a pinto or a mustang 2 (LOL) I mean they are not the most popular car for "hopping up" if you will.

Hahahahah Thats wild you never mentioned it was a drag car Or is that your daily driver. I never said that just because it wasnt a fox it cant run I just ment its not cammon to see something like that. My first car was a 66 coupe mustang but never made the road I still have it but it needs a extreme resto. I got this fox for cheap its a 84 gt350 convertable i really didnt want it but it is a 5.0 5 speed and the body is rust free plus the 600$ helped ease the amount of work it needed.

Infact I got the quote from the machine shop to today for the motor and it was like 1150 to machine it and do a few "tricks" (hint hint) not including all parts just a few Will post what all its getting later when I get the paper estimate.
