K&N Filter warranty

If the plastic ring comes off the filter could you get a new one replaced for free through the lifetime warranty? If so how do you get it replaced? This is the drop in cone type filter.Thanks.

Looks like you have to have the original recipt and just send it back to them ... If it's damaged they will replace it (i guess) ...

Not sure how the warranty works but I would like to add that my K&N also fell apart the same way yours did after 20K miles. Million mile rating my ass haha

The sponge gasket fell of my original K&N filter. I glued it back on, but it wouldn't stay. I picked a replacement k&n filter at Walmart for cheap.

It's just easier to buy a brand new one, then return the old one in the box saying it broke. Just don't do it with serial numbered products, such as digital cameras, PS3s, Wiis, computers, etc, and you should be OK.

They will send it back to the manufacturer.
