K&N Oil Filters

I use them in all my cars and have no complaints. Not that I will probably notice a differenct till one fails but... it's a little insurance for the extra 5 bucks in my mind. They are suppose to flow more at high rmp than the others is the main difference.

Fram is abo:taco:e garbage.
Only Wix or K&N for me, they're practically identical.
Cut open an old fram, and cut open an old K&n/Wix, and you'll scream in horror if the fram came off your car.

lol--- fram is trash... i learned that working at a parts store for the last year!

as for the K&N, rick91gt told me that on a dyno, just switching to a K&N filter, the car saw like 5-6 more HP. are you ever gonna notice that 5hp... nope. but for the extra $5, a $1 per hp sounds good to me. :D

Well, unless they use a completely different filter element for 5.0's than they do in every other filter they produce, you are very incorrect.

Every (and I mean every) oil filter study I've come across says although they flow well, they are terrible at actually filtering anything. That's common knowledge in the 4.6 community, and I thought it was here as well. But anyways, do a search for oil filter study, either on google, or on stangnet as well, and you'll see what I'm talking about.
 
Purolator filters are supposed to be good, based on the couple studies I've read on oil filters. Wix ranked almost as good. Both filters are pretty cheap.

Fram filters are pretty terrible... K&N's weren't included in the studies I read but it's dissapointing to hear they don't filter very well...
 
Don`t know anything about K+N oil filters,other than that they are really expensive here in Canada.
Stay away from Fram,they are the worst :notnice: .Take a Fram PH8A oil filter and look at the 8 tiny oil entry holes,then compare them to the equivalent Motorcraft FL1A,Purolator and Wix brands.Big difference.
