nice, glad you enjoy the boost.

As for your car not starting on the first try. Chances are its your fuel system.

Your regulator may not be holding the rail pressure hence the numerous turn overs before it starts.

You can check that with a gauge. Or the cheap way is to turn the key to the on position (the fuel pump primes the line) a few times, then start the car. I

If it starts right up, check out the fuel, pump, injector(s) , or regulator.

what did you gap your plugs at? That could be affecting the startup. If the gap is too big then that will cause it. Have fun with the KB, but keep the RPM's down if you can help it. Remember RPM kills stock rods and pistons much faster then boost will.

Edit add in: The larger gap will also cause the car to run rough until warm. Also look for a vacuum leak as stated before.

I have the Denso U-grooves gapped to .035. I heard conflicting stories...even through KB. Some people said gap them at .025 and some said .035. I wonder if that is causing the problem? What should my boost be reading? Just trying to determine if I have a vacuum leak. I think at idle I am reading 20 psi of vacuum and at WOT, I am seeing almost exactly 9psi boost. Wouldn't that indicate that it is not a leak? Maybe I will play with the plug gaps and see it that helps. Thanks!

I agree, a vac leak wouldnt effect start up like you descibe. If it was a vac leak you would have a problem all the tine and your boost and vac readings would be off. Spark would effect the performance at all areas also, too much gap= ping, ping, too little gap= poor performance, rich condition, etc. Sounds like the fuel system is leaking down slowly. An injector could be slightly hung open, Ive seen this before it lets just enough by to cause the system to loose pressure but not enough to completly flood the cylinder, after you turn it over a few times the sytem gains the pressure back and fires. You can get a pressure gauge that attaches to the schrader valve on your fuel rail and check the pressure that way. You can also get a good injector cleaning, the type that cleans through the schrader valve, all this could do is help, always good to have it done at 30k miles or so just to keep performance up. Hope this helps.

I've got 4,500+ miles on my KB kit, and just went over 50k total on my car.

It's soooooo freakin fun to drive!

If you really wanna thank me, you can buy me a KB kit (and make KB find a way to keep the shaker with it)

Nice pics man!

Dude, that was quick! I was waiting for someone to notice that! I was looking at a picture of someone else's KB and I thought to myself..."Hey, that would look really good if the raised area that said Kenne Bell was painted.", especially since my car is black and since the KB is black...so I did it. I actually used a high gloss black paint pen. Worked like a charm!

I am a firm believer in "it's the small touches that make a world of difference".

I'm with you on the small touches...I was thinking the exact same thing for my polished unit...my ride is black too....but when the unit arrived...there was no Kenne Bell logo there...just polished to an amazing finish. At first I was disappointed...but then I saw this.

And when I got up off the ground...I was content.

Then I had to grab some kleenex.

Yes...the polished is awesome! I really wish I could have gotten that one but I was already at my max spending limit!!! Oh well...I will just be content with my "non polished" kit. Your engine bay is sharp looking 2000BLKGT!! I love the year and color of yours too!

I saw that, but it is just a 99-01 cobra kit. Does it actually keep the shaker in place? I would assume it would fit if you completely redesigned the bracketry and stuff.
