Hi have had my 9psi intercooled KB kit for 3 weeks on my carage floor until I finally got all the pieces together for my install.
My buddy and I did the install in my garage and it took us about 16 hours. We are almost done now (only the gauges left to install). The instructions from KB were good, but they could do a better job at marking all the pieces in the kit. At times it was very difficult to determine which part you were about to use. And I also recommend that you keep an assortment of spare screws handy, because we were missing 3 screws from the kit & a couple of holes were not drilled/tapped to fit the supplied screws.
I have a small coolant leak somewhere. It keeps dripping down slowly. I guess I have to start digging around in the engine bay to locate it.
But the power is awesome. I need to get the kit to disable my traction control (forgot to mention to KB that I wanted them to turn it off for me).
I have one question regarding engine idling. When I come up rolling towards a stop light my engine will idle at ~1500 rpm. It will drop to the normal ~900 rpm when I come to a complete stop. Does anyone have a clue what causes this or is it normal?
And the infamous BAP. I probably don't get it... and I was probably too tired last night when we finished the install. Here is what I did:
Located the switch in the trunk. Split the wire. Connected the red fused wire from the bap to the wire coming from the switch. Connected the other red wire to the other end of the cut-off wire from the switch. Pulled the long black wires to the engine bay. Installed the boost switch with the T connector between the fuel pressure transducer and the discharge manifold.
What the heck is the last black wire on the BAP good for? Was this the correct connection?
