KB Pump Loosing Prime

Had same problems when I first intalled the KB. Would loose prime.

Replace a Vortech SQ w/intercooler with a KB.

Since the battery was still in the trunk I decided to use the larger Vortech water holding tank.
Also had priming problems.

Once I moved the pump below the tank (actually below all of the lines (lowest point)). Never had the problem, did not have to do any special priming, never had the problem again.

I believe priming issue could be reduced by relocating the pump .

THe Vortech pump was also mounted on the bottom. Never had a problem of loosing prime with it..

I had the same problem getting it primed but after I got it primed it was fine until that one last pesky air pocket hit the pump then it stopped. My remedy was to take the cap off the intercooler and unhook the return line from the IC to the res. Then I turned the pump on and and plugged the return hole in the res and blew into the res. This will prime it instantly (for me it did anyways) and I have not had a problem since. Be ready to plug the return line back into the resquick though or else it won't work right and you will loose lots of coolant.

OK, let's see if I got this straight. I take off the hose that runs from the IC/Supercharger to the res, then I plug the retrn hole of the res and put my mouth on top of the res hole and Blow?! At this point I'm willing to try anaything!!

You got it bro just MAKE SURE you have pleanty of fluid in the res or it will pump more air into the system. Watch yourself when the fluid starts flowing, because it starts fast and flows hard!!

The problem lies within the pump itself. Its a screw type pump and it creates a lot of bubbles (cavitate). The best way is to do exactly what you did. I work with a lot of screw type pumps, and we always have to use alternative line pressure booster to prevent the pumps from cavitating. What you described is exactly what I did with my pump and it worked fine.
