For context, I have BBK ceramic coated long tubes (rusty after only a couple years by the way) and no cats. I noticed that my car tends to idle and take off from stops smoother after I've been beating on it, especially in cold weather. I have a theory that it is because I get more heat in the exhaust and the O2 sensors are struggling to stay lit under normal driving conditions.
I'm wondering if anyone has heat wrapped their long tube headers and gotten their car to run better by doing it, or if what I'm experiencing has nothing to do with the O2 sensors. Or even just wrapped the collector near the area where the O2 sensor screws in, so that way the headers don't need to be pulled off the car.
