I was just checking out kenne bell's site to see what they had new and low and behold they have a new supercharger thats available in limited quantities right now for the 03 cobra. Capable of 30+psi its a 2.4L supercharger!!

Has anyone heard of this or seen any real world results yet?

I wish i could but they wont be putting those on any 2valve GT's anytime soon. I am throwing around the idea of 4 valve swap and then KB blower. That all depends on what kit is available for the 01 cobra kit that they are developing now. I'm concerned about the intercooler. Thats one of the reasons that i haven't just charged the KB 1.7L to my cc is because of the heat issues they've had as compared to using the intercooling from the 03 cobra and a larger supercharger. I think the 03 cobra kit is able to handle such high boost for two reasons built engine with 8.4:1 compression & because of the better intercooler on the cobra.

As always i end up researching so much my hands go up in the air and i start all over. I know i can get plenty of miles out of my current engine but it would easier to built an engine from scratch and i can probably find a used 01 cobra engine fairly cheap bt the time i get ready to build it.

I even had a dream last night about driving a 4valve...dont ask me how i know it was a 4valve...i just know (dreams are wierd) LOL.

The 2.4 is only benificial if you plan on running 24lbs and up. I could have gotten it but the 2.2 is fine for me

wow, all i can say is

Is the 2.2L going to be safe to run w/o forged internals on a 2V???? doesnt seem like it to me. If not that is going to be $$$$$$$$$$$$$ i bet the new 2.2L is going to be expensive (but worth it) plus the cost to get forged internals. wow, costly!!!
if safe for stock internals x30!!!!

I think that the current 2 valve setup with the 1.7 screw blower is ideal for the 99-04 GT's. @ 14 psi with the correct setup....i.e. forged block, stage II heads and custom cams, You can EASILY be in the 550 RWHP range. Yes, 14 psi in pretty much the upper limit for the 1.7 unit, but why on earth do you need more then that on the street? I think that it is ridiculous to run a 700RWHP car on the street. You will never get any traction, even with built suspension. Trust me I know. At just 9psi the kit is sick.

I guess some people don't wanna buy pricey stage 2/3 heads/cams and prefer just to slap a bigger blower...in any case..be ready to get forged

Dude.. it'd be less of a head ache if you just traded the GT for a used 03 cobra if a built 4v swap is what your planning on doing anyway.

I'll take ya for a spin..............then you'll know why we do it.

Speaking of this 2.4 KB, I know of a guy that's getting one for his 03 to go along with a VT 324" stroker. Got torque?

The 1.7 wont make 550rwhp unless you have serious heads on the car..Even with a stroker and stage 2 heads(foxlake)VT camsL/T's,Dr,gas ,14psi we only got 515rwhp but 570TQ
Now,the 2.2 is going to be another story.

We have a car here that is setup JUST like Kidds 663rwhp Vortech car.It has a new polished 1.7 on it.It will be on the dyno again next week.I'll post up results. But its already way short of the 663rqwhp kidd has.

Btw,we have done 4 built engines with the 1.7...So we know what they produce..
I love the blower, these cars are sick on the streeet..But HP wise they are short of the Vortech cars. The 2.2 is going to be the sick puppy.I bet we can get 650+rwhp out of one.
