I finished my install and went to start the car and it fired up first time.. Within a minute my idle got kind of erratic and then evened out. Then the check engine light came on. Once I shut down the car and tried to restart the engine it wouldn't start, just turning over.. I thought I didn't do enough prep work on the chip install so I pulled it out again and sanded the conatcts a bit more and cleaned them again with contact cleaner as per the instructions. Re-installed everything again and same story. Fired up, erratic idle, check engine light. Won't start now. Any help would really be appreciated.

One other question... Since the supercharger has a custom tuned chip, can I still use my predator to check trouble codes?

Thanks again

Well I cleaned the IAC and checked my vacuum lines and low and behold it started, but not for long. Same story. I ran a diagnostic check with the predator and retrieved the following:

P1260 Theft detected. Vehicle immobilized

P1000 OBD II systems readiness test not complete

P0190 Fuel Rail pressure sensor low

P1233 Fuel pump driver module disabled or off line.

My KB S/C kit came with the big tube, MAF, switch chip w/ tune to include shutting down my O2 sensors and improve my transmission shifts, injectors, and Boost-A-Pump.

Do I need to remove my mil eliminators because of the chips tuning?

PLEASE HELP!!!

I believe all these codes are related. Something could be going on with the PATS system. It will let it start and run for awhile before disabling it. My guess is the chip. Get ahold of your tuner and see what they can do. Pearl02.

pull the chip out, start is and see if it will idle. DO NOT give it any throttle though. It may idle rough because of the stock ECU program and the new MAF/injectors. Just pull the chip, start it, see if it idles for a few minutes, then shut her back off. If that works, then you know its a chip related issue. If so, email or call Ken Christley (KB's Tuner) and talk to him. He's a great guy and will go out of his way to help you.

Newest update... I got the car to fire up again but it stills idles erratically. Very much undrivable. I tried to check for vacuum leaks by using Carb cleaner but couldn't find any (that doesn't mean there aren't any). I noticed there is no fuel pressure on my gauge. I double checked the wiring and it didn't look like there was any issues there. I tried switching the wires on the Booat-A-Pump and that didn't help either. The car still starts but has trouble idling. One more thing...My vacuum/boost gauge shows increasing vacuum when giving gas to the running engine. My boost line in t'd by the 45 degree fitting in the rear of the KB intake. Any clues out there?

01 Steeda....The kit complete with the upgraded MAF and Big tube CAI and the almighty shipping costs to Hawaii ran about 6200.00. KB folks are great and had the kit on my doorstep within 5 days including a weekend and Martin Luther King Day. She feels great... My wife was laughing it up when I finally got her to test drive the stang.. She loved it too.

Stangless... I live on Oahu.
