Kenne Bell Setup, How much power?

Hey guys i was wonderin what your hp & tq thought would be for a setup like this.. 347 r302 block, all forged internals, AFR 185 or 205 heads, custom cam, KB 2200 with flowzilla intake at 16-17 psi, (with water methanol inj) and all other suporting hardware, and a good tune? im lookin to get into the 11's up here at denvers altitude and also is there any way to have water methanol inj. activated at a certain rpm? thanx for the help you guys always provide :hail2:

sounds similar to the setup i want to switch to. same block. i think i am going either 185 heads, or ported TW's, probably the ported TW's. and with the stroker and the blower you had better hope for more than 11's. if 11's is all you want forget the blower and just build a stroker. im going for 9's with the 347 blown stroker with nitrous injection for cooling. im hoping for 6-700 hp as well. i hope the blower doesn't run out of steam <- only thing im worried about

to answer your question yes there are controllers to activate at certain rpm or certain amount of boost.

Concidering my cousin made 396rwhp with a stock shortblock, FTI ported AFR 165 heads, KB blowzilla with 6lbs of boost, FTI custom cam, and a stock style ported holley lower (systemax I which looks IDENTICLE to the stock lower, this is different than the systemax II), I see NO reason why you shouldn't blow your goal out of the water. He has since switched to a flowzilla inlet and a ported GT40 lower. I drove the car when he put this on and on drag radials, 3.55 gears, the ass end broke loose at approx 65-70-mph in 3rd gear. Now, add an additional 10lbs of boost, more cubes, bigger heads, etc and I see absolutely NO reason why you couldn't run WELL into the 11's even at 5000'. Most meth injections are boost PSI activated, not RPM. I do not know though if you could do it the other way, but honestly I have no idea why you'd want to since a KB acts just like a turbo in that it makes boost in relation to throttle input, not RPM. So you could be putting around at a lazy 2200 and come to a hill, the boost will come on very quickly under the new load and if you are spraying the meth/water I think you'd want it to come on then.

thanx paul i appreciate the info! the only reason i wanted it to activate by rpm is that kenne bell people have told me that since the kenne bell makes max boost so low that it can hurt your power if water methanol is being injected below 3500. they said that is the minimum rpm that it should be injected at. i dont know if this is true or not though. but thanx again for the info and all the help! :hail2:

you wouldn't want the injection to come on at such a low rpm, this is true. especially at partial load. you can get methanol controllers that can be activated with multiple imputs i.e. RPM AND BOOST. when my setup is complete i will have a nitrous injection rather than the methanol. something like a 20 shot to activate at 6-7 psi to keep it cool. all in all i want to be putting down 6-700 hp with a 13k budget. we shall see... stroked kb torque curve :hail2:
