Will my 2001 CObra engine be able to handle a 9 p.s.i intercooled kit? How long would my engine last? Also do i have to get it dyno tuned??I heard kennebell chips are really good.
Thanks

No way to tell. How many miles are on your motor now? Has it been beat on hard while still N/A? Is there a pending bearing failure looming in the near future? Who's going to be in next years superbowl? See where I'm going here? You'll need a crystal ball to answer this...

If you want to ensure the setup is safe and will not blow-up in a week, YES.

Yes, they go well with salsa! Seriously, a mail-order chip is hit-n-miss. I would only use a mail order chip to get me to the dyno where I would then have a proper wideband dyno session performed for added peace of mind.

The reason i ask is because i don;t want to buy a KB and then 6-months have to fork over 5000$ for a forged DSS block. AND pay for the KB to be put back on. Ya follow me?

Thanks

I would say yes it would be safe to drive to the dyno... JUST STAY OUT OF THE BOOST!

I follow... but there's just no way to say one way or the other when you're dealing with a motor that has 44K miles on it! There's just no way to tell whether it'll last for another 50K miles or just 5 miles... If the engine is sound and you don't go crazy with your new found power, plus you run a very conservative tune, I would think the original block should handle 9psi without much problem.
