...with an Excursion.

I was driving north of Polson MT on HWY 93 in my X and there was this punk in a silver ZX2 following me. He was a typical "got something to prove" type, with a huge ugly blue wing on the back and his white ball cap on backwards. He was darting from right to left behind me, even though I and all the people in front of me were doing the speed limit (65), and traffic flow was fine. After a little while of being followed by this tailgating geek I come up on a mini van that is going way under the limit, so I go to pass him. I signal, start to pass, and I'm half way out into the left lane when the stupid ass ZX2 tries to dart out and get around me! Think I'm gonna pull back in and let the little ass buy? Hell no! I punched it, pulled away easily, completed my pass, and got back in my lane. He finished passing and got back in behind me. Now he's riding my tail again even though I'm going over 70, and the limit is still 65.

Now to set the stage here, as you head north of Polson, and start to make the turn around Flathead Lake, there is a very steep 1/2 mile long hill, which is up hill if you are going north. It has two lanes on the uphill side so people can get around the trucks.

We hit the bid double lane hill, and he immediatley darts out from behind me and starts to pass (I'm still going 70). As he started to come up on me, I eased into the gas a little, keeping his front wheel about even with my rear, and just held it there for a second. I heard him downshift cuz all of the sudden his fart can really came alive. He started to just barely get even with me, and I eased into the gas just a tad more, keeping him at my back wheel. He persisted trying to get past me this way untill we got about half way up the hill, at which point I floored it, and left him for dead. I came of the top of that hill at about 90, not bad for a 7500 pound rig on a grade like that. I slowed back down to the limit at the top of the hill where it goes back to one lane, let him catch up, rolled down my window, stuck my arm out, and gave him the big "L". When I turned off a couple of miles later, I expected to get flipped off when he passed me. Instead, he looked away. I noticed he had a buddy with him as he went by me. Cool! His little hot American rice wannabe got by an SUV, and with a buddy in the car to boot! Rock on!

Those cars have to be the slowest cars ever. I had a '90 Dodge Dynasty for a little while as a driver. I knew someone who had a ZX2 so we raced. Well, he got smoked by a Dynasty. How embarrasing.

Big Blue

There is a big Blue SUV always around here in the kirkland areas,it might be a Expedition,I don't have a death wish to race it since it get all those 911 stickers and lightbar on the roof. Guess for the driver in that monster is the nearest thing to be a God,watching from above we mere mortals scramble out of his way no matter what we drive .

It's funny. I've raced a few people with the big Excursion, and most of them are surprised at how quick it is. It weighs in at about 7500 pounds, yet goes from 0-60 in just under 8.5 seconds, which isn't bad for an elephant of a rig. If it's already rolling down the road at 60, and you put your foot into it, then it really comes alive quick.

Is your Excursion diesel? I've got a V10 one, and it does OK for a huge, heavy rig, but it sure ain't nothin' to write home about.

Oh, and a good thing is wasn't this ZX2, your story may have had a little different ending. 351 Focus

It's a V-10. It has the 4.10 gears, which help alot, but I have 33 inch tires on it too.
