King Cobra Clutch...

Its getting worse. I first thought it was over heated but it seems that every time I get on it or launch it gets softer and softer. Anyone have an idea as to if I should get a new clutch or is it just me that ive gotten used to it or wtf?

Whats a good reasonably priced clutch?

King Cobra cluthes are real pieces of $hit!

There are no GOOD reasonably priced clutches. I went with the CenterForce Dual Friction and will never go cheap again!!

What will happen when it fails?

Several of us here have had one side of the disc become UNBONDED and just fall apart while driving normally. This seems to be after the cars have seen a few powershifts, but no matter...one guy's lasted 7k miles, another about 5k and mine lasted only 2 months!

That, and the fact that it is very nearly the same as the STOCK Cobra clutch, simply means that it is not worth my while. It cost me nearly $500 to learn my lesson with the King Cobra...I just hate to see anyone else do this.

HEY, I understand the occasional need for value...IF you need to go cheap, I'd go with the STOCK COBRA clutch from FORD. Just drive it a little easier...give it a break between 1/4 mile runs and it should work out just fine. It isn't going to feel like a Centerforce or Spec or McCleod, but meanwhile you can save up for a good one.

Good luck friend!

Well after racing it a few times I felt it slip when I dumped the clutch. Now it seems like I can just dump it and the car wont even jump. Thats whats scaring me. When I first got it the car would jump like a mofo if I dumped the clutch too fast. Now it takes no effort to get it right every single time. Unless im used to it. Also the car doesnt seem to accelerate as quick either.. hmm.
