Knock After Cam Install

i just installed a set of cms stage one cams on my 2002 gt and on intial start up it had a BAD knock i shut it down immediatly and turned my motor over by hand to see what i heard and the motor got really tight . does anyone have any suggestions? im sick to my stomach over this

My money is on the cams were mis-timed and you put a piston into a valve. Happened to me once when a timing chain tensioner failed.

Did you replace any "lifters"?

That's what I was thinking.I have to pull the valve covers back off look and see, hopefullyi can go back over retime the car roll over by hand and hope I dont have to tear this thing down again

The only way to tell if you bent a valve through the cam covers is if a follower was snapped or knocked off a lifter.
