could be a cracked piston skirt, they will open up more when warm and then knock will be more noticeable under load. the bad thing is that you won't be sure until you pull motor apart, a cracked skirt won't show debri in oil filter

i had the same issue, and found out it was my tensioner pully bottoming out on the stop because my belt was streched, take a look and see, that fixed mine. it makes a knocking sound like a problem in the engine. tell me if it fixes it

no, this isnt the pully at the top, its the one down by the air pump that actually moves, whell when your belt streches, it hits the stop and cant tighten anymore.

i know.... i got a new tensioniser pulley and tensioniser from autozone it was like 79.00 the one down by the smog pump...
im saying that i dont have a T-50 torque bit to tighten that bolt that goes into the middle of the tensioniser itself...
i started the engine today and watched the T-pulley and when the car knocks, the tensioniser doesnt even move...

you are saying maybe the belt is too short and it is bottoming out and making that noise?
