So im having this knocking issue with my front suspension. I am running Ford racing C springs Strange Struts and MM caster Camber plates. It was a setup i cheaply put together to get my carf back on the road. I was running the caster camber plates before but the shocks and springs were just bought to get car back.

Its spaced out correctly using the spacers for the C/C plates. It knocks over every little bump. First i though that maybe the spacers were wrong and the shock was moving before compressing and that was it. I just took it apart and thats not it. Then I thought ok maybe its something simple like the nut on top is loose, and thats not it. Im out of ideas I am thinking maybe the bushings inside the plates have worn. They have prob close to 70k miles on them. What do you guys think?

I am starting to think the car really is just to low, but then again I had coilovers before and didnt have this issue.

While a few of us are mechanical mustang geniuses, you still need to give more info, such as is it knocking when you stop, or just when turn the front wheels w/the steering wheel or what?

sorry the knock happens when the car its any lil bump in the road as is the front shocks arent spaced or the top nut is loose like the spacers are hitting the camber plates before it even compresses. if that make any sense.

could be you c/c plate adjustment bolts arent tight? i had the same problem started out only when i turned the wheel left, would make a popping noise. then it started doing it all the time with bumps and when i turned the wheel. turned out to be that i didnt have one of the bolts tight and the shock was actually moving around.

i guess i could check that right now actually lol

edit: I checked them and they are down fine and tight. I got no idea whats doing this. I planned on ordering a bumpsteer and balljoint kit later guess im ordering sooner rather then later now.

Does it sound similar to putting a quarter in a tin can and shaking it?

I have the same problem, its one of your tie rods. My front passenger tie rod is bad too and its getting louder and more frequent.

For some reason, the tie rods go bad on Mustangs very frequently.

Check out your steering rack bushings before you go buying a lot of expensive parts, if they look worn out and chewed up you can replace them with nice poly-urethane ones for like 10$...
