what weight are you running now? does it leak or burn oil? if so, how much oil does it lose in 3k miles? 5w-30 should be fine but 10w-30 won't hurt anything.
is it coming from the driver side valve cover area? if you aren't losing any oil i would stick with 5w-30. does it do it all the time? or just when it's cold or hot?
