Know if its possible to find a 67/8 fastback

Hi, I am a previous owner of 2 mustangs and am interested in finding a 67 or 68 fastback mustang. Is is possible to find one for around the 300 dollar mark? I dont care if is has a motor or not, but just need a good basis for a possible 5.0 engine swap? Any help would be greatly appreciated. BTW I live in southern california.

its gonna be A LOT harder to find anything (especially at that price) here in southern california. If you look out of state you probably have a better shot at finding something that will work for you.

try adding another zero for a shell rustbucket

haha im sorry, i meant 3,000 dollar mark, and thanks for the help. I really would like to get a project car to work on and if I could find on for 3K that would be awesome. Good luck with all of your projects

Here´s what I got for $4900 two years ago. No rust but have to replace tail light panel, rear crossmember, rear valence, cracked shock tower, battery apron, front valence,both floor pans, and both 1/4 panels need a little help too. No engine, no tranny. Interior complete, except for passenger side seat. You´ll find your fastback, but expect to pay more than 3 grand.

ArizonaMustang.com had a rolling shell 67 FB that had been stripped and nicely reapainted. It had no motor, no tranny, no interior, no glass, no drive line, no suspension to speak of, and wheels and tires of some rusted out POS. they were asking $21,000 and I recall it sold shortly after being put up for sale. I saw a POS 65 FB in alabama for $12,000. It was a very tired old car, good only if you planned a complete, ground up restoration. I very much doubt you will find a 67-68 shell for $3000

WOW that looks better than my car did. Got it 4 years ago for $5800. It is more cost-efficient to buy a 14,000 car in thats in great condition than to restore one. You will end up spending a lot more than 14,000 when its all said and done.

Thanks for all the info, I am still going to try and look. If I cant find one, I might just do an SN95 project car.

From my experience...when I found a good deal or at least what seemed like one....it was always 4 states away. I wish you luck on your search....nothing beats that feeling when you do find it.

Yeah, I know, but where´s the fun on that? Had I had the cash to buy a nice running one I would´ve done it. I consider this project my therapy.

I just saw a basket case '67 FB saturday when I went to look at the '68 NB in my sig. It was in someone's side yard an was little more than a shell with partial window glass and wheels. I would have asked if they wanted to sell, but I just dont have the money for a ground-up project. Even that shell was worth more than 3k. I'm not saying you cant find one for a good price, just dont expect it.

And dont bother with Ebay. Everyone looks for that stuff on there.

man, the more i see people looking for 67 & 68 fastbacks, the luckier i feel. i bought mine in 1997 for $3300, and it was totally complete. its currently getting a bit of body work done, but i could still sell the sucker for probably twice what i bought it for

A guy at work is selling his beautiful black 66 fastback. It is actually a GT with a 289 HO engine. The car only has 66,000 miles on it and has gone through a restoration and engine rebuild.

Boy how I wish I could afford to buy it.
Unfortunately I can't even afford to put gas in my 73 stang right now. At least not and eat.
