Lack of power Please help

My car has a intermitten power problem..In the mornings when its cool out
the car runs fine..After driving for a while and i jump on it it has no balls..
no engine lights....Any clue what it could be....Has 53k on it..
I live in vegas so its like 115 out...added steeda pulleys and was wondering
if i should go to a colder t stat

well the 115 certainly has alot to do with it. Not much better here in FL in August. The colder stat would help, but you want to also have the fan kick on earlier as well.
4.10 or 4.30 would probably be a bigger cure. I drive mine, then my wife's 01 (with 4.10s) and there is quiet a difference, even in this heat with the A/C crankin.

Im going to get a colder stat and see what it does...when you say 410 or 430
are you talking about gears??

I live here in vegas as well and can relate to your problem. I can't stand the way the car drives with the air on at mid day here in the summer. I believe the problem is due to the ecu picking up excessive heat from the cat's and dumping excessive fuel causing the car to run very rich. From my understanding, this prevents the car from running lean and detonating. You have now answered my question of ''does it improve with gears''!

Actually the ecu is pulling timing..It sees extremely high inlet temps and is pulling timing..Its normal.To prevent damage to the engine..
