Leaking AOD, what is this bolt?

I had a pretty bad leak in my AOD in my 90 convertible. It was leaking from a bolt on the Driver's side, right above where the shift linkage bolts on. (See picture) I tightened it and the leak stopped. What is that bolt for? Just curious.

The picture is actually of a spare AOD I have, but same bolt.

I'm pretty sure its a test port to connect a pressure gauge. It allows technicians to check line pressures during running operation.

Just like John says, I too think it's a diagnostic line pressure port.

Just wanted confirm what was stated above. This is the "main line" pressure tap used for diagnosis. If you ever need to test at this port, be sure to use a pressure guage that read up to 300 psi. Idle pressure should be 75-90 psi while WOT pressure should be 241-290 psi.
