Hey everyone, I have been working on my car's fuel injectors for a few days now and it's starting too really piss me off. After about three times messing with the injectors, I have been able to get 2-8 working perfectly. I have put new seals on both the top and bottem of the injectors, cleaned the fuel line, but I can't stop number 1 from leaking. Does anyone have any ideas how to stop this? The other two times #1 worked fine untill I was able to get 2-8 working...figures.

The 88 model year injectors would weep at the junction of the plastic and the metal part of the injector. Replacing them was the only fix. Most junkyards will sell injectors for about $10 each.

It's leaking from the fuel line and running down the injector.

Look for damage to the inside of the fuel rail socket that fits over the injector.

I think my #3 or 4 is leaking but I think it is into the cylinder becuase when the pump primes and the rail fills I can hear a pissing sound from those two injectors. Nothing is coming out up top though. Theres alot a popping sound coming from that area...

Make sure you didn't leave the old O ring in that socket on the fuel rail. If you did, stick a small screwdriver in and pull it out.

I haven't noticed any damage to them. I have cleaned them out with wire brushes and sandpaper, but it still leaks. Do you think if I buy new injectors it will stop?

89lxsport50: I have removed all the O rings.
