Okay, so I know that I am asking for it here, but I just wanted to give my thoughts on a matter that has been brought up before. About two weeks ago I posted a message about how long it was taking my mom to get her GT that she ordered in February. Well she couldn't wait any longer and on Saturday I heard the raspy exhaust note of a 350Z. I was, and still am, disappointed that she didn't get the Stang. I love Mustangs. I drive a 65, and have gotten several friends to purchase them too. I am looking to buy an 06 too, but thats another matter. Anyway I was disappointed, but I drove it Saturday night, and it made me a little happier. Although I have yet to drive an 05, I have driven dozens of others from 65 to 04, inlcuding a couple of Mach 1s (never a Cobra damnit!). Anyhoo, even though they are completely different cars, the Z is a lot of fun. Great handling and a nice 6 speed. Its fast, but not in the way a Mustang is (it doesn't kick you in the pants like a Stang). I have come around to the Z. I would still pick the Mustang, but thats me. Plus on the way home there was a 2000 Cobra in front of me...hmmmmm...better not with only 25 miles on the odometer... Thanks for listening to me rant...you may begin your criticism of me

Why critize you? It's your Mom that needs the criticism. And, too bad you havn't driven the 05GT b/c then you would really like to kick your Mom in the pants! Just kidding Hope she likes it - even though it's slow.

Whats sad is that shes driven one! And she loved it! She ordered it black on black, and we waited and waited and waited, but she was afraid that her previous car was going to give up on her, so she didn't want to wait any longer. At least she got a stick cause she wouldn't be caught dead in an auto. Plus, I'll let her drive mine when I get it. We're no longer the all Ford family either...now its F-150 (dad) Exlporer and Mustang (me), and....350Z? Well its pretty fun though...my neighbor has a twin turbo 350Z so maybe that will inspire her to do a little something to hers...

I personally love the 350. It's a great car, from probably the best Japanese manufacturer. But the two are different. Now that I have my beast, the next car I'd get would probably be a 350. Two fun cars that I personally wouldn't compare to each other.

The 350Z hard top is definately a car I respect. Most of the owners (males) are tools but the car itself is good looking and fun. Now the convertable

I feel the same way about the Audi TT.

Dude, you aint the retard in this tale! The true loser is the body who'll no doubt be following their sister (GM) down the road of worker lay-offs, making similarly lame-ass excuses ("...health insurance costs made us do it..." -sorry GM, pig frickin ugly cars is why you're making no money!). I know 12 other people with similar stories to yours - ready-to-pay customers who either just couldn't get a car, or who were being dicked around by greedy dealers.

I'm hardly Mr Social, so if I know of 12 (ok, now 13) real sales - not browsers, real sales - that have failed, then I shudder to think of the total number of customers Ford has lost.

Ah well, Ford - can a few thousand plant workers and bring operating costs down once you realise that 75% of the people who couldn't get a 2005 Mustang are driving 350's/GTO's/Sumothercar (um, or fire the idiots responsible for corporate steering?)!

I won't bash you!
I love my 350Z and wouldn't get rid of it. Thats why I had to get a Mustang GT and own both a Z and a Stang at the same time. These cars are totally different in that one is a 2-seater and the other is a 4-seater. I will love driving them both. Now if I can just clone myself, I'll have double the pleasure.

Thank you! I have trouble understanding why a GT is so hard to get! Some people on this site have had their 05 Stangs since last October, which was 9 months ago! You would think they could have a supply by now as the Mustang is a mass produced vehicle, not a specialty car. I love Ford and I love Mustangs, but they really dropped the ball on this one. I know Mustang sales are up, but they would be even more so if they could produce cars for everyone wanting to buy one. Did anyone see that Ford commercial that said "The Mustang you want is the V6!"? Well the V6 is great and all, but not if you want an 8! Doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me!

Yeah thats kind of true. At my school theres a bunch of them, and they guys usually think that they are too cool for school. But my mom looks good in it, and she likes it, so I guess thats what really matter. Thanks for being so understanding and not banishing me to the sport campact graveyeard.
Maybe I should just stop being so cheap and buy one...if it would ever get here. Or maybe next time I am in Florida I will have to steal jt14894's Redfire because thats the exact car I want...good choice!

I have a gt vert on order, but I like both the 350 vert and the TT vert. Let's face it--chopping the roof off a car usually makes it look better when the top is down. I do like the TT coupe's look better than the vert.

The Mustang Looks great with a soft top, so does the S2000. The 350 and TT look like a roman chariot add on rather than a factory design. I think the ugliest freeking car I have ever seen is the Solara convertable.

I couldn't bash anyone for liking another car, because I'm a lover of many cars, just like I love many women! (Okay, from afar, but it's still true! ) I just wish I could get more test drives!

We can agree on that -the solara is very fugly-top up or down.

On the cars or the women? I would choose the women, while in the many cars I love!!!

Back to the topic. I don't have the mentality that because I own a Mustang, I dislike everything else. Like merlinsteele said, there are many cars that I love, and many that I hate, each for a different reason. The 350 is a nice car, although I prefer the styling of the G35 coupe. However, the 350 convertible is ugly. It just doesn't flow right

It's interesting to me to hear what cars appeal to stang owners. Some prefer nothing but...stangs in all flavors.

Others are car enthusiasts as much as stang lovers, and love other hot cars in #'s and variety. I would like to think I'm in the 2nd category. In my dream garage I want yin & yang--strong/crude V-8 performance along with some refinement and handling. I just picked up my new 5-speed gt vert last night, and if I had more $ I would add a new Audi A-8 to the garage. That would cover most of my car lust needs.

In a perfect world we would could have both a blonde and a redhead; a luxury car and a muscle car.

In my perfect world. It's a harem and a warehouse for the cars.
