side oiler explian? i have no idea what motor it is but why are the headers so hot?!

Looks like an old Ford 427 SOHC. Like was used in the Thunderbolts......

Seventy, you beat me too it. I was going to say a 427 OHC, I was thinking DOHC though... (Sorry, I am more of a mopar guy)...

Though at first it was the old popular 427 marine motor but its not. All those blocks were blue but heck what do I know.
Just that the pic. is of a 427 Side Oiler lol!

Believe it or not, thats normal. If you held you engine at 4000 rpms for 10 minutes your headers would look something like that too. And I also would like to learn what a side-oiler is. I can make an educated guess based off the name...

And, as I said previously, the Ford Thunderbolt. It was basically a strip car from the factory......
