Sorry to hear about your misfortunes, smart move putting your car in your dads name. If you dont mind me asking why do you have to pay her 1100 a month in support? you have kids with her? stuff like this jus confirms me not wanting to get married. the guy gets screwed everytime. I hope it works out for you dude and for now just do things that make you happy and nobody else. When you start going to the bars again jus use women for sex and nothing else, wrap it up and be careful. bang em, and send em packing.

NO, he doesn't.

Why just use women for sex? There are women out there who don't deserve to be treated like that.

That was a ****ed up thing to say...

He's probably a teenager who doesn't have a clue.

To the original poster--just keep your head up and do what you have to do to stay sane and get right back on that horse.

Good luck.

I agree with carbed87, I know a bunch of guys that have been divorced before (coworkers from different shops I've worked at), I've heard so many stories like "I gotta pay this that and the other thing because of that bitch!" or "I had a boat, a classic car and a condo and she took all of it" and not because they cheated on their wives, just because they couldnt stand her. I think carbed87 meant to say, in a divorce the men get usually tend to get screwed over FINANCIALLY, women want to take everything. (Some women just don't have their heads torqued to spec correctly.) Thats just my opinion. As for midlife89 - Good luck with everything, good thing your were able to keep your real girl. haha

Ever heard of alimony? The purpose is to allow a seperated spouse to maintain the lifestyle they were accustomed to living while being married. The general rule is the spouse with the higher income must pay alimony to the spouse with the lesser income for some period of time ... until remarriage, period of years, etc. (of course there are exceptions for everything). Often times the spouse paying the alimony is forced to live a lifestyle well below that which they were accustomed to living during the time of marriage.

Then, on top of alimony there is child support. In this case, if she has the legal and custodian rights to the children then he would also have to pay child support on top of the alimony payments. Things can add up very quickly. Good luck.

I'm not getting into a debate over this with anyone. All I know is I was cheated on by both my husbands and the first one only pays $300 a month for 3 kids because I was NICE and didn't want HIM to go broke. Now, I'M broke. My second husband had a kid while we were married. NOT WITH ME. I tried to stick it out and forgive him and help him since he paid $400 a month for ONE kid. Now, he's unemployed living with Mommy while I'm working my ass off. I'm still saving to get a devorce. That is why I'm "a little cranky" on the subject.
