ok when i turn my lights on my parking lights wont come on... they will only come on if i move it back just a little and play with it to make it come on... ok so if i push the switch in once they wont come on... and if i push it in all the way my headlights come on but the parking lights do not only if i move it back just a lil and its still a pain in the ass if they do come on... once there on say i hit a bump they go off... then again i got to play with the switch to make em work... so i figure its the light switch... nope i replace it with a new switch and still the same thing... ok then i see my connecter is lil melted ... so i change the connectors! and still they wont come on? so im lost anyone have this problem before??

I used to have the flickering light problem, but it was the overheating of the switch thing.. I did the fog light re-wire thing (see corral's website for a how to) and never had it again.. however, your situation sounds more like a loose wire elsewhere. Perhaps a wiring diagram and some wire troubleshooting would be more beneficial to you than doing the fog light rewire.

I am with Sgarlic there. I also would have figured a bad headlight switch, like you did.

tracing a bad wire can be a pain. How I might start, were it me, is to run a fused jumper to the parking light wire (it is a brown wire under the dash or grab it at the back of the headlight switch). See if the lights stay on using the jumper. If they do, the switch or wiring upstream of where you tapped into the parking light circuit is the place to head (since the lights, when powered with the jumper, work, you know the wiring to the lights is sound).

It aint much, but it would help narrow it down. I get irritated at times and just rewire stuff, rather than chasing wires.

Good luck.

Im sort of having the same problem. I just got my motor back in my car and gettting it wired up and everything, I put the battery in and hook the power up and my parking lights come on, but they wont go off. Do you guys think thats the switch gone bad or what else could it be? Thanks :SNSign:

i don't know guys, i got it back to work the way it was... but i mean it feels like the switch is broke? but its not because i have tried two of em... i guess i might have to rip the dash apart and trace wires and see..
